In a way, the concrete can also represent breaking through an obstacle and growing from the experience -- even if just a little.

I love the painting. And on a personal level, here's hoping that you are like the plant in the painting ... that you continue to grow and bloom. ^_^Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07033273368358677353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6729523934317542076.post-42607075150362603412009-07-12T19:24:33.894-04:002009-07-12T19:24:33.894-04:00First, let me say your boyfriend made a great choi...First, let me say your boyfriend made a great choice of a gift. Something simple like a lamp, but also beautiful and thought provoking.

That said, I love the painting. Never saw a turtle coming, but it's still cool nevertheless!

I also see another link between turtles and life itself. Some turtles seem to have an incredibly long lifespan -- assuming the predators don't make a meal out of them before they make it to sea as babies. (Saw it on a nature show where birds swooped in and had a buffet at the expense of newly hatched turtles. Quite disturbing.)

I can definitely relate to the painting on a personal level as well. My "life spark" is a combination of writing and helping others. Without writing, I wouldn't be able to express my thoughts. Without helping others, I'd be a complete fraud as a person.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07033273368358677353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6729523934317542076.post-72361750782250350022008-11-10T13:55:00.000-05:002008-11-10T13:55:00.000-05:00So it took almost two weeks to leave my thoughts ....So it took almost two weeks to leave my thoughts ... I suppose this is one of those cases that it's better late than never.

Blue goes with Pisces well (water sign, a constellation representing two fish, etc.), and the door as the item is perfect in my opinion. From my experience, Pisces tend to welcome almost anyone without question.

The fact that the door is surrounded by space adds more to that point. When they open the door on the other side ... the possibilities are endless. At least that's my interpretation of it.

I await the next painting.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07033273368358677353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6729523934317542076.post-46138979928165238762008-11-01T17:17:00.000-04:002008-11-01T17:17:00.000-04:00Thank you Norm for the kind words. This painting is of course a Virgo's interpretation of Pisces and am please to hear that you think I captured the essence of your sign well. To me having the door surrounded by space gave me the same feeling as one floating in the ocean.

Thank you again and I will indeed keep them coming!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07353271860297583347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6729523934317542076.post-42306188949392885702008-10-31T16:21:00.000-04:002008-10-31T16:21:00.000-04:00Hi Michelle,As a Pisces, I like it a lot. We are our hearts, feelings, emotions...what ever people call it these days. We also are very much connected/comforted to/by water.

Thank you - I feel duly represented and I am very proud of you and all of you beautiful work.

Keep it coming!

Norm =)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6729523934317542076.post-963413730738640262008-10-07T02:20:00.000-04:002008-10-07T02:20:00.000-04:00The fact that I'm coherent enough at this time of ...The fact that I'm coherent enough at this time of night to post an opinion first should be considered disturbing on many accounts.

Then again, things could be worse.

Gemini was one of the constellations that interests me, and the using the hands on the watch was a near-flawless way of expressing such a connection. Personally, I never would've thought of that.

For some odd reason, I absolutely love the 12 on the watch. From 12 to 6 ... I thought, "Wow, that looks like a real watch."

Once I got to the other half of the watch, I saw the artistic side -- like an "Alice in Wonderland" feeling. Makes me wonder if you did it on purpose.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07033273368358677353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6729523934317542076.post-7093615705626782052008-10-07T02:07:00.000-04:002008-10-07T02:07:00.000-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07033273368358677353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6729523934317542076.post-49805231247739199962008-08-22T17:13:00.000-04:002008-08-22T17:13:00.000-04:00I already went to Cosi's to see the artwork. If anyone else hasn't gone by this point and is traveling along midtown, stop and take a look.

As always, I'm impressed with the diversity with your artwork. For constellations, not a bad twist. It's nice to see what the constellation of our favorite signs look like.

Aries and coffee makes great sense. Ditto for Virgo and the mirror.

However, I must admit that Cancer left me with a "huh?" feeling until I took a deeper glance, then it become more of a "duh" moment.

I know painting will slow a bit as you continue with other endeavors, but nevertheless, I look forward to the next installation of this series -- especially to see what you do with the Scorpio constellation!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07033273368358677353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6729523934317542076.post-69585199780299660942008-07-13T18:32:00.000-04:002008-07-13T18:32:00.000-04:00Hey Girl!I completely understand your dilemna! It suggests that one cannot pursue something without also considering "the other side of the coin." Speaking of coins, I think the piggy bank is pretty damn cute, especially the way it wiggles from the left side of the painting to the right side -- symbolizing the pervasiveness of money in many of life's questions.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6729523934317542076.post-53582700154585031672008-02-17T17:52:00.000-05:002008-02-17T17:52:00.000-05:00I think this painting is quite good in capturing t...I think this painting is quite good in capturing the essence of the questions and in a sense quite practical for the issues it addresses.
